Company founder, Alan Martin, began work on a project that led to the creation of the Conquest 1200 when his son, an outgoing and sporting young man, was injured in an accident and paralysed from the waist down. Starting off its life as an 850cc machine, Martin's concept progressed through the classical stages of new product development and, as early prototypes were created, attracted serious interest from outside investors before evolving into the high performance, 1200cc series production vehicle available today. To help drive the project forward, Conquest International received considerable private equity funding and benefited from its association with the Manchester Business School, in addition to grants from the North West Development Agency (NWDA). The Conquest 1200 has been rigorously tested and, in 2009, achieved US Homologation. In 2010 Conquest International achieved EU Type approval. The company now boasts dealerships throughout the UK, mainland Europe and North America, making the Conquest 1200 a truly global success story. |
